Medical Resources during Coronavirus quarantine in Costa del Sol – without leaving the house!
Welcome to quarantine in the Costa del Sol in March 2020! Isn’t it exciting???
Currently you are only able to leave the house for essential supplies or work.
However, many of us may still need medical advice or support during this period, for a wide variety of reasons.
Video and Technology to the Rescue!!
I’m not the only one offering using technology to continue treating patients! It’s fantastic to see just how many practitioners are adapting their practice to be able to offer clinical support and advice via this new medium that technology offers us.
Here we have pulled together a few resources, most are local to our clinic in San Pedro de Alcantara (between Marbella and Estepona). We will update this list as we get more information – so keep an eye on our Facebook page and Instagram feed or sign up to our newsletter to be kept up to date. Alternatively you can email or WhatsApp us – we will do our best to point you in the right direction!
A wide variety of services
Dr Ana Rosa Jurado, the gynecologist at Dr Triay’s clinic in Nueva Andalucia is offering both video consultations AND home visits as she has a portable ultrasound – [email protected] or 676467299
Family Doctor, Dr Crichton-Smith and his tri-lingual team (French, English and Spanish) at the Atlantic Clinic are also offering video and telephone consultations – 952 817 425
I’ve not met her personally but Dr. Adrienn Eva Hajnalis is a dermatologist offering online appointments as well.
If you or a family member are diabetic the wonderful Anne Bowles who runs the La Cala de Mijas Diabetic Support Group has a helpline – 607879450. Backed up by endocrinologist Dr Gomez Trujillo and the Angels Care Nursing Group.
These are wonderful resources if you are concerned about getting to a doctor or are juggling older or younger family members.
National Health Services in Spain
I’ve also been informed that the Salud Responde App that you download onto your phone to book appointments with the Social Services also has a special “Coronavirus” button now.
And that the number to call if you suspect you are infected is 955 54 50 60 (in Andalucia) – please don’t go to the doctor’s surgery as you risk infecting other, at risk, patients. (please be aware that these services may only be available in Spanish).
